Netscape News Automatic Startup

If you always use Netscape News as soon as you connect to the Internet, it can appear automatically when you start Netscape. If you change your mind later, you can reset Netscape News so it starts only when you ask for it.

Yes, something similar applies with Microsoft Internet Explorer, but the ol' primer only has Netscape information handy.

To control automatic display at Netscape startup

  1. On the Options menu, General Preferences. The Preferences dialog box appears.
  2. Click the tab for the Appearance page of the dialog box.
  3. In the startup section, click Netscape News. When this box is checked, the news window displays when you start Netscape Navigator.
  4. Click OK.
