Bob Fahey's Sherlock Holmes Page

I think I was in my early twenties when I first read the Sherlock Holmes stories. If you've read them, I don't have to tell you how fun and interesting they are. Half a lifetime later, I've just read them again, this time online. This time, I looked up unfamiliar terms and places and cultural references, and added lots of links. I hope you enjoy what I've come up with.

The original stories were published in magazines over a period of 40 years, and were brought together as books. The author, Arthur Conan Doyle, really tended to hop around in the timeline from story to story. One story might be introduced as recent, while another is introduced as being taken from notes that are years old.

Hardcore Sherlockians have scrutinized clues in the stories to try to date them. I figured I'd give you a fair shake and present links to the stories in two orders: the order in which they were published and the order of events in the life of Sherlock Holmes. Read them either way. There are a very few I haven't gotten around to, so the link points you to another resource.
